The Long Island Blues community has lost a great friend and musician. Frank Celenza, bass player with the Kerry Kearney Band and others, lost his battle with cancer on August 19th, 2021. Frank was kind, thoughtful and had a great sense of humor. His personality was as big and warm... as his smile. Frank was loved by many of us, both in and outside of the music community. He will be profoundly missed.

Legendary Long Island musician, Joe Vicino passed away on May 19th, 2022.

Joe Vicino was a fantastic, passionate guitar player, singer, songwriter and performer. His Wednesday night jams at the Branding Iron and Jessie's Roadhouse were the hub of the local scene for years and he fronted many great bands including Blue Avenue, The Smokedaddys and The Joe Vicino Band. Joe hosted a Christmas toy drive for over 20 years to benefit sick children in the hospital during holidays. Joe had a big heart and a generous spirit and through the years made many friends both on and off the stage. He also was inducted into the NY Blues Hall of Fame in 2013. Joe was loved by many of us, both in and outside of the music community. He will be profoundly missed.
